Fri 10th May - MEP candidate visit to Winchester

10 May 2019

Thank You Vix - what a lively discussion !

Excellent to see so many people of all ages at our event in Winchester last Friday night to discuss a wide range of topics with Vix Lowthion - one of our Green MEP candidates - who came all they way from the IOW. Thank you!

Vix Lowthion, Green Party spokesperson for education, presented the Greens manifesto for the EU election. The audience asked brilliant questions about biodiversity, energy, agriculture and - of course - Brexit. We organised some leafletting and came up with ideas for new action - check Twitter, Facebook and website for upcoming news.

Many thanks to Open House Deli and the bike hub for offering their venue.

MEP’s are elected under proportional representation, which means that every Green vote in the European elections counts and tactical voting is not relevant. The South East Green Party uses these democratic and proportional elections to stand up for free movement, climate action and for the rights of all Europeans.

The Greens are the largest UK remain party in the European Parliament and the most credible option for those who want to remain in the EU through a people’s vote. Caroline Lucas’ leadership on this in the House of Commons has changed the course of the debate.
